                       FREEZIN FOR A REASON SPONSORS

A heartfelt THANKS from the Cox family to all of those who participated in and sponsored “Freezin for a Reason IV”. We send our love to everyone, friends, family and strangers alike. To all those who pulled this event together, everyone who came, cooked and served the delicious food and drinks, provided heat and shelter and unselfishly stand up to support my family.

Despite all the hours spent breaking ice on the lake, it just was too cold during the night on New Years Eve. The Lake completely froze over and kept the boats and skiers off the water, but it didn't stop a tractor and a skiboard from from a different type of skiing.

There is a very special group of people who really get behind this event to make it what it is, and what it has now become. I don't think anyone can understand how “Freezin for a

Reason” impacts my family emotionally, and the hope that lies within. Rich, Reese, Jennifer,

Mark, Gail and The Lytle Family and so many more...Thank You!

Those who broke boats breaking up the ice and those out for two weeks nightly and to their families who gave up time.

http://www.tsorthodontics.com/ This is our orthodontist in Asheville NC and they are wonderful to our family. The are both great testimonies and have helped us with the expense of brases by dramatically dropping the price on the estimates we had. They allowed us payments without intrest and no one else would. God had His hand in this as well. They attend Biltmore Baptist Chruch.

As you can see this group of sponsors continues to grow so large, and we (my family) really are not involved in organizing the event. Therefore, I know a have missed listing some really important contributors. I deeply apologize for that, but please contact me at christopherncox@yahoo.com so that I can add you to the list. We know many of you don't need the recognition but our family and kids really need to see who has given so much.

This is a very special family and Jonny is my son's guitar teacher. He is a kind and Godly man, we have been blessed to have met and for Jake to leasons from Jonny. Below is a link to his studio.

Missions and People we have meet or Things we Love

Missions and those we know in the Lord's work who we know or have meet in our path have and will always be close to our hearts. We continue to be amazed at how God shows us so many of His children hard at work who make us strive to do the same in our lives. We have a special place for some we have meet along life's path and are looking forward to meeting many more who impact us in such a way. Often, it is just a person or a buisness who God has used to show He is at work in our lives.

The Rhoades Family who we went to church with in Missouri are a wonderful family who are in El Salvador doing Gods will. We will always be impacted by them and what they are doing.

The Williams Family in Atlanta GA, who we first met not by fate but by God at Camp Sunshine in Sebago Maine which is a wonderful camp for kids with life-threatning disease. This family made an impact on our son, Jake and for that we will always have a special place in our heart. Chris has always found Phil to be such an encouragement and motivater to our family, we thank Meg and their entire famly who also changed their life style and are working to change hearts for Jesus. We love you and look forward to Camps ahead and other meetings!

The Loecken Family who we came to know recently through the Williams Family. They were impacted by a preacher who challenged them to live a different life style, one made to depend on Christ for everything they NEED, not want but more importantly, to GIVE and HELP wherever God has a place for them. They sold their home and four kids/teens are on the road and doing this because they felt God wanted them to. Their story has appeared in many places and on radio shows and can be found at www.crazylove.org. We are praying for this family and so glad God brought them into our lives. We understand their thirst!       http://www.thearktour.org/The_ARK_Tour/Home.html   GO Loecken Family!!!!! We love and support ya!

There are so many people and families who have crossed our path and continue to as God guides us. We long to see where He takes us next and are willing and ready to be His servants right here where we are. We pray to always be willing to GIVE and Help as so many have for us! We have been blessed by hundreds of people maybe thousands as our story continues to make contact with those God is using. We want to be used too!

Of course, so many people in theLake Winnebago Mo, Lee's Summit Missouri area, Mountain Grove Missouri, Charlotte and Asheville area have touched our lives and every single prayer ever given up Him for us, we are grateful for and their are those who have done that and much more we will never know but He does and we feel it in our lives. Thank You.

We want the churches down in the Ozarks near where my parents grew up as well as a lot of our family still there a thank you for your loving prayers and support, at Evening Shade and Mount Carney Missouri

Also, I know we have a cousin who said her church has taken up a collection as well and so we thank them as well.

Our family runs across products and services that have been over the top in providing wonderful quality.

We want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to G and L guitars who did an amazing deal for our son Jake. A Big thanks to the Vice President Rob Rozzeto and to Matt Disilca of Music Man located in the East Village, NY NY. Rob you ROCK!!!!! and now my son can too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks, Thanks, Thanks! If ever you need a guitar of awesome American made quaility, G and L is the best!

We want to say thanks to friends in Todd who have opened their home to us, The Wadden Family, to Katy Jo in Hilton Head and Summit Cabin Rentals in Piegon Forge. To all of you who help make it possible for our family to have some time away and play, we thank.

We apologize to anyone we may have left out as we are just starting this list.

          Home School, Our Favorites

Switched on Schoolhouse and The

Robinson Curriculuim- This is something we LOVE. We just don't have time to get back and forth to a library or we loose the books, have late fees and with this great collection for the price, you can't miss. We got it for the books alone, over 12,000 library which they can print out any book, 12 yr. education and 22 Cd's with 12,000 vocab words and 2, oo historic illustations. Without having to take up all the room! We use this with SOS and for reading. Wonderful

http://www.robinsoncurriculum.com/

Splashes from the River is a great English course from basic to advanced and includes an essay, punctuation course and free spelling as well. They offer a no frills DVD which comes with a dvd to print out the woorkbooks and have been great.

http://www.splashesfromtheriver.com/

Homeschool stuff we Love, Math U See- a great math program for younger kids. http://www.mathusee.com/

Teaching Textbooks-  Now it is 3rd theough Cal/Trig .The very best in upper level math is wonderful. I don't know how we could be getting through this without it!These mah books are expensive but they are awesome! http://www.teachingtextbooks.com/

Rosetta Stone foriegn language is great as our entire family has used it. It is very expensive as a lot of the things we use are but we have found it works well though I have heard of other's less expeience in Cathy Duffy Reviews. This was a gift so we will use it for all three kids.

Science Labs: http://www.hometrainingtools.com/Default.asp?camid=&bhcd2=1256931597  This is a wonderful site that offers so much fun in science experiemnts and offers many in packages already set up with several top curriculuims or you can pick and choose. We found that switched on schoolhouse Biology is strong and use it but we also use ACE School of tomorrow and love their Biology lab on DVD which for dissection is top. You can follow right along. We also have SOS lab on DVD and we pick and choose the labs we do. We love the microscope and has made learning science so fun for the family. We have made our own slide and have seen their bone marrow slides. This makes science possible for the home schooler. Chemistry, I am ot sure of but we will decide about that next year. Body by Design and any anatomy coloring book and biology coloring book is fine. We also found that the visable women and man is good for understanding.

Of course, each child is different and we use the Liberty Acedemy Switched on Schoolhouse for our basic curriculum and works well for us since we travel often and are on the go, when were sick or when were not. This is computer based and either can be done via the internet and offers accreditation or just the basic Switched on Schoolhouse which offers easy grade keeping and all the assignements are given either on their year or you can be create your own school year. All with 180 days, it meets most states standards. This doesn't include field trips that count for many state school days, so it works well. We have found that for Math, the other forms work better and do not use their math. You do not have to use their entire program.

We add on to our subjects with the, Jensen's Format Writing and Daily Grams,Wodswith Apprentice, Learning language Arts through Literature. Reading Comprehension in Varied Subjest Matter{ we use this in the summer or breaks just to keep the doing something} Cozy Grammer, Rosetta Stone,  The Fallacy Detective for Reasoning Science tools and books as well as "A History of US" and for fun Driving thru History as well as early on Liberty Kids DVD's and SOS offers many educational videos as does the Christian Bookstore. The Creation Museum also offers a lot of learning material. There is just so much out there.  After buying the Robinson Curriculium, I have not needed anything else with SOS, other than Sceince Experimence Supplies. It has everything in Literature and Classics as well as books on Logic, Reasoning and any subject area they are interested in.

Cathy Duffy's Top 100 Picks as well as her web site gives just about all that is out there. We did find some teaching sites that offer great films and DVD's to watch as well. The Christian Bookstore and Amazon as well as Ebay has a lot of material. It was hard for me at first as the kids had been in Abeka and a little Bob Jones but it didn't work for me at home with 3 kids. SOS, is so easy and in the lower grades is fine by itself and they offer by far the best deal. I have done them all and they are the best. The Acedemy just gives more assurance for college. We plan to have them start college classes in 11th grade.

If you know of an great books or homeschool tools, please let us know, we are always looking.

Western Carolina Cleaning- This is the very BEST in any type of cleaning from hardwoods to carpet and detail cleaning well as sterilization. They do a excellent job and provide it with kindness and hardwork. Greg Kandrel is the owner and went out of his way to help us. We cannot say enough good things about this company and thank Greg from the bottom of our hearts! Their phone number is 828-778-2829, located at 437 Kenilworth Rd. Asheville NC,28805.

Blue Ridge Containers- This company offers several services, it provides trash dumpters on site, Port a Pots and Strorage as well. The were very helpful and give great rates. Their number is 828-692-8342.

Martins Mircoscopes- Martin owns this and home-school their children. He was a huge help in finding a quailty microscope for a minimal cost. His web address is www.martinmicroscope.com.

We have an entire list of buisnesses that support our family in the Kansas City area and will be putting a list together to say Thanks. There are others we will list over time and please remind us if we have left anyone out.
