Continued prayer for Jake as he has been sick for two long years and for the first time in our life, we feel helpless in so many ways. We know we always NEED and trust us, we wish that wasn't the case but we are glad that many are being meet. Still, I can't express how hard things have been this past year. We have bills, copays, medication and not just for the kids but myself as well.
We haven't had an extra cent and we won't to have gone anywhere for to years. We always managed a beach trip and I Dollywood ship but even if we had the money, we never know when Jake is well enough. Sometimes he gets a burst of enegry but when your a senior and sick, school is rough. Yes, it's at home but its demanding and he stresses out over the future. He has asked when he will die and he believes nothing the doctors say nor do the other two. They tell them what feels bad but not much is done and it has caused them to loss trust in doctors. Just pray for our kids who we promised the day we found out they all were sick, that we would live a life full of fun, not expensive fun as neither of us had that kind of childhood. Just camping with friends, fishing and float trips. We moved further into the mountians as under normal circumstances, this place is a haven. A lot to do yet not in a huge city. We are willing to go ANYWHERE and just travel for the major checkups. That is what we have been doing as between UNC and Ohio, we can make it. So, their are many issues but if Chris doesn't have a great job with benefits and he is a very smart and good employee. He doesn't miss work over the kids, I take care of them and all of that.
Please pray for Elsie Thompson (Tu Tu) and her entire family. Elsie was like a grandparent to me and I will forvever miss her. It has been so hard to live so far away and we had tried to get back to KC but we what to follow God's path not ours. She was a sweet, happy, kind women who loved to help others. My parents didn't have a lot of money and birthdays, well they just didn't happen. One year she invited me with my friends to come over and have her famous foods and cake. They had goat carts there and horses and never were they unwilling to share.
When you were with her, she made you feel like you were hers, open to anything you wanted and more than willing to give. Jake, always struggled to eat and keep it on but Tu Tu would bring him a batch of her best ever speghetti sauce and Tu Tu bread, Garlic toast, as Jake called it. In fact, this entire side of the family have always included myself and Chris and made me feel I could come to them about advice. This I mean Hank and Joan but their entire family have always treated my father and my brothers and I, families as part of there own. I will never forget her laugh! It will remain in my heart for ever and our family would have been there had we had the ability to be. It is important to show how much someone meant to you and to my brother in law, who is broken hearted, my sister and the girls, cousins, aunts and Uncles, great grandchildren and all those friends, show how special she was. I didn't get to go but I heard wonderful words which I would not expect less, she was full of life and had an incrediable out look on most everything. We ask God to be with all of the family and she made such impacts in peoples lives that, her legacy is a fine one.
We also ask for prayer for Linda and Randy Blankenship as Randy Blankenship father passed away. Linda had just lost her parents back to back and was hard to take. She is also under strain taking care of Karl, her son who had surgery and is in the bed with family all over coming and still coping from her loss, now the loss of his parents. It starts to occur to us all, that we are no longer able to go to our elders for help or wisdom but must instead become the help and wisdom, that can be done easier through Christ love or by trying to do it all yourself. Please pray as death seems to have come in waves lately. For all of their families, we send our love.
In church today, the pastor reminded us to pray for ALL our leaders. No matter what side you are on, we are commaned by God to pray for those over us. We also pray for our pastors and spiritual leaders, We pray for we know that Satan wants nothing more than to harm and break such leaders. To break down our country, spliting us apart and causing our country to go further down. He sermon was one of few I have heard that laid blame at the feet of both sides and running and raising all the money would go a long way in helping our economy. No matter how we feel about the war, the upmost respect should be given. That all a dead soldier gets anymore is a few seconds on Nancy Grace which he thought was great but why not more. So we pray for all pastors today and leaders of our country not to fuel the fire but to pray in love, for after all, it's in Gods hands and what ever is suppose to happen, He has known for a long time.
Pray for Jake, who is having a difficult keeping the weight up and stomach issues that only got somewhat better and he needs to recover, we plan to take him and find out WHY as he needs to be ready for college or we will have to postpone and no teen wants that. Please pray for him. For Grace to be double checked on her Kidney and Uterus and Samuel on his jaw and all on annual past due marrows.
PLEASE Pray for Chris to secure the best place for our family as he embarks on full time jobs with benefits and the place God wants to use our family. We are HOLDING out for a special job nearby and it would be a HUGE blessing!
My sister is doing fine after her two surgerys but my neice has had some on and off illness, in Nursing school, it's demanding enough but then their are all those germs you must become immune to.
PRAISE! My brother's results all came back clear! We are so glad and know this takes a lot of strain their lives. We all grew up loving water and remembering to protect ourrselves from the sun is now a priority.
Please pray for a friends of mine, she is having a difficult time right.
Many prayer requests for church members, college teachers and even more cuts to the job market. Each week, their is another added and more cuts are being made. Work is very hard to come by and what is available is taken fast and for half of what most made or even worse. Many are doing away with benefits, leaving more families without insurance and the new plan of kids getting insurance, doesn't put a limit on how much it costs. Trust us, we know. Our country is too busy playing sides and at the cost of so many families, including ours. We have a constant sinking feeling and it is bad when you just don't know what or how you will get through the next week or month.
Pray for this world, the loss of Jobs and so many families we know, hurting. Pray for all those who have been off long. We heard a story of a man and his wife, who took in four special needs kids after he had a great job and felt very secure, only to loss it and after two years, he finally got a job back. To celebrate, he and his wife went to a nearby vacation spot for one weekend and she had a shock and died. Now he has had to give up his job to take care of his kids. We know he was being helped but he was humble and didn't even feel he deserved it. It was an amazing story and it is something that my family need to be very careful off, we deserve absoultly no help, no special treatment, just a fair shake on jobs and benefits. Yet, time and again, many of you have helped us and we know just how very lucky and blessed we are. Thank all of you who find it in your heart to help. Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts.
Continued prayer for Jackson Hill and his family. Jackson and his parets, sometimes and in now way doe I mean this in anyway the wrong way, God has a plan for those He deems stronger than the rest, including the family, netwerk of friends and many prayers are going up. My children can't wait to meet Jackson, he is their new hero!
Please pray for our finicial well being as we are finding it harder and harder to make the premuims each month. We are thankful for the work we do have but asking God to give us a good solid job with benefits. Please continue to hold us up. Without the insurance, we would loss our ability to keep them on IGG and other life saving medications. We are already paying a lot of medicine costs and dental care as well as our normal medical costs and then just the cost of living. We know God protects us and we believe that Chris will be blessed with a great job expecially since he will be a Registered Therapist. Our faith is being tested. We want a home of our own with our own belongings and our childrens belongings so very much. We know home is only where your heart is but when you move around as much as we have, no sweeter words than Home can make you feel.
Praise as Pop is doing very well and his treatments are over!
Please, we knew a few people in the Joplin who knew people who are lost or gone. We know most who read this are friends and family and are already doing so.
Please pray for my Uncle Gary Hurley who had surgery for his vertebra in his cervical spine. Sadly, he returned home only to have a Blood Clot in the brain and they said he wouldn't make it. He is a Man of God and he has taken a country church and saved people that no one could. He has lead a life with his dear wife Barbra and they have been married and have children and grandchildren. So, just as we have been told their is nothing more to do, God turns around and shows the world that miracles are still alive and well today! He has gone though a great deal, he will continue to go through a great deal but I pray one day not too long from now, he will preach again and with a new testimony of His own. PRAISE, Gary preached the last two weks of sermons!
Dear friends of our's Mark and Theresa Andrews have a tagic event happen within their extended family on Mark's side. His sister and her husband along with Aunts, Uncles and cousins lost their two year old daughter in just one of the worst ways possible. She was two and mom put her in her car seat but forgot something and ran back up to the porch, at the same time Shaniah got up so fast and got behind her favorite aunts car, Aunt Dorcus car and she never knew she had run over her, until her sister(mother to Shaniah) and grandma were yelling. This family will have so much to deal with. We WONT FORGET! It had to be a hard Christmas but many are thinking of you.
Please pray for Reece and Jennifer Wolff and family are need of prayer as Jennifers mother is battling caner of the brain and breast. They can't treat both so they have gone with the faster growing breast. Please Lord be with her and allow her no pain. Give her comfort and peace. This is extended to Jennifer for no matter the age, a loss of a mother is so hard.
Pray for Tamera and her parents, who have been thus far turned away from every hospital. John Hopkins can operate on her thymic tumor at the base of her brain. It is growing at a fast rate, taking the child they knew and changing her, still full of love and desire to live and worried more about her parents than herself. Her mother Jennifer has explained it over and over to each hospital they take her too. Vanderbelt is who helped her dad, a Godly caring man who has worked and lived in Kentucky their whole lives. Jennifer forced to quite as if she did, it put them over the amount to make get any insurance. Medicaid, the dream breaker for so many. Taking homes, cars and retirement. her husband is now working for about 10.00 and hour. Their future looks a lot like ours and our childrens. How is it we can put our kids through college which they all must go so we can keep them on our insurance or they are done. Medicare is not allowed until age 20 and then you recieve 665. a month. They can live in government housing and just think of what that will be like. On top pf all of that, they will not recieve the care they need. These are all the thoughts running though our heads. All we can do is pray we can both work as hard as possible and try to put as much money away as we can but with so many medical bills, we see no change in it anytime soon. People say take it one day at a time but if we don't plan ahead for college, than our son will be on Mediciad than Medicare and no, home ownership still isn't given. That is for those over 65. They will look forward to food stamps, handouts and a life no parents dreams off for their child. Oh well, does it matter, won't they die anyway, we don't have a clue because they don't know what disease our kids have!
As always we pray for our siblings and all our neices and nephews. Time has passed and all but three are in High School or college. It seems like it flew by much faster after we moved and we often wondered what may have been had we stayed. It wasn't even an option but we miss our home. Our church and the dearest friends are there.
My kids have dreams and we are their parents and our job is to grow them to love Christ and to know, He has no limitations on any of them and they should just be free to be happy. I pray our kids can travel anywhere and do anything they want because I know this much, they are hand picked by God.
Please pray for every family and child in the same situation as us. Pray for this country to see that evil lies on both sides and I am not on either side, only God's. Pray that children will stop being allowed to die because they are underinsured, on Mediciad or without insurance at all. People really think they won't allow kids to die, babies but they really do.
Please pray for a dear friend, Reece Wolff, for the greif they share for their loved one who passed away
We also ask for Dave Williams and his family in the time of their grief and give them peace.
We thank all those who have reached out in all sorts of ways. Many who email and call or text. We love you all.
This reminds us to continue to pray for Cameron, who lost his leg in a lawn mower accident several years ago. He and his family we want to continue to lift up as Cameron has been chosen for a special purpose we are yet to see.The Cumberland Family needs continued prayer from the loose of their beloved grandpa and we ask God to protect Laci who is in college and on her own. She needs spritual protection and the right people in her life. Sid has always been there for Chris and Susan for me. We also ask God to ease Charlotte's pain.
Continued prayer we can meet our Cobra, medicine copays, formula and all our medical payments not covered in the fundraiser. We know that we can do all things through Christ that stengthens us.
We always praise God for what He does for us day to day and were able to do more than cope but have fun and laugh.
Prayer always and 10 seconds every time I think of them or and email, it really works Paula. The Rhoades in the mission feild of El Salvador.
Praise for Phil and Meg Williams and their ongoing minitry as well as the prayers they give to our family. We meet at Camp Sunshine and God just made that happen. Phil has been a wonderful man for Chris to lean on.
Please protect and bring blessing to The Loeken Family RV Ministry and their soon to be new book.
My friend, Christy, recoving from surgery. She has a lot of people who depend on her and needs to recover quik and we pray this will give her back some of the life that has been stolen away with illness. I have known her since kinder-garden and she is tough. She went to college on a Volleyball scholorship and was very athetic so it was very hard on her when she developed Fibromyalgia years ago. She also had a hyterecotomy as she has a similar Uterus issue but God blessed her with two healthy children and we site this knowing God isn't finished with Grace yet!
PRAISE! Yeah! My cousin Alesha is PREGNANT! This is really a testimony of God's grace and love. She was told she had Polycystic Ovareis which was preventing her from concieving. She is doing very well and we are all sure this baby will be healthy and of course, be super cute! I love you guys. ALWAYS WILL NO MATTER WHAT. Praise for Bryan who has been such a blessing to us from the church here.
I have an Aunt who's broke our relationship but either way, she has been having health issues and I pray for those to be resolved. This family is under extreme strain and their are two younger girls with babies who have put a lot on her shoulders and she was taken advantage of but did so by taking advantage of my family. It is always said when such things happen but I am am so grateful there were other's who loved me enough to tell me.
A friend of mine who is enduring a great deal and has an unspoken request.
Prayer for Gail and her buisness Sweet Meadows to keep on keeping on!
Asking prayer for my Aunt Nina who isn't well. There is also a unspoken request.
Ask prayer for my cousin Jim Hurley at the loss of his wife who joined Chris after a battle of illness. We ask for God to grant them grace and peace while they mourn her loss.
My friend Missy and her busy but blessed lifestyle and her entire extended family!
Our family has great respect for the men and women who protect our country. As my father fought in Korea and msot of my uncles fought in one of the wars, we were taught to never forget those fighting for our freedom.
Pray for my many friends in teaching to keep or find work and many others struggling to keep their jobs.
Praise for Mami Haddock as she is doing well and has a good job. We are glad things are going smooth.
We are grateful to Susan and Sid and Family, Andrews, Family Christina Smith Gail Pickertt and Gail Shmitt, Sunsan, Jon Dunham Family and our prayers are with them.
All those at Abundant Life who love us and help us. Our words will never be enough. All those at Lake Winnebago and tons of tons of people. Always prayer for Pastor Phil and his family as he lead a large group of followers.
Praise Him for our church families, all of them. Thank you for the love the wraps us up all the time. We are so glad we have them at our side.
1st John 5:15 And if we know that He hears us,whatever we ask, weknow that we have the petitions that we have asked Him.
For all of those who came together at Abundant Life and called us to pray over the speaker phone, we give thanks. You will never know the impact it had on us at that moment. We are seeing God answer prayers and while still in need, had a peace wash over us and feel protected and strong in Him by way of a group of believers who came together, took time out of their busy lives and made a point to call a family that no longer attends and still love and care for us. Trust us, this church has wonderful leadership and is backed by a wonderful group of strong Christians. Chris and I will never be able to repay the debt of all this church has done but God will and bless it Abundantly!
Psalms 56:17 Evening and morning shall I pray, and cry ALOUD: and He shall hear my voice
The bad thing is were in the middle of school and we can't just stop that so we have to continue with that. I was planning to return to school in late September online for Christian Counseling and may have to wait, I plan to try. I just know it may not be the time but there is always another time.
I ask prayer for the little fellow across the street, Reid and Samuel as they are as tight as brothers. It will be so hard on them both and I am attched to him as well as his entire family. His mom had an awful death. She, from what I have heard was a wonderful Christian women who was giving and caring. The love of Tim's life. he was left with three children. Emily is twelve and a sweet girl. Lauren is 22 and has the cutest baby boy, Tanner who we love to watch when we can. Reid and Samuel are togther so much and that is what I will hate the most. Lauren and I have become friends. She is pregnant with her second child and needs a lot of support and help. She is across the street so it is nice as she gives me love and support too. If I need Sam to stay, Tim or Lauren will take him and the same with Reid and Tanner. I would love to keep Tanner more but I don't always feel well enough. He is the easiest, smartest and cutest baby to take care of and everyone here loves to keep him. Emily needs prayer to as it can't be an easy road. She seems to be doing well and strikes me as being smart. Lauren is very smart and really sweet and pretty girl. The hardest part of leaving here will be that family. Pray for Reid as he has become like part of our family and Tanner as well as Tim who is a good man, for Emily at age twelve without a mother must be hard, Lauren has been like a mother to her younger siblings but has her own concerns with one child and another on the way. Please bring another family into their lives and help each of them.
Our Aunt MaryAnn and Scotty live in Lake Winnebago where they deserve as they never gave up on their dream and allowed nobody to stop them. God blessed them with the dream they had both worked so hard and continue to for. MaryAnn had knee surgery not long ago and she needs continued prayer for healing of that as well as her over all health. Chris and I love them dearly and are priveleged they are a part of our lives. We wish we were just down the street from them again so often!
We too have dreams of our own, even when your in survivial mode, we have our dreams and that is because of Christ. He wants us to not just survive but thrive. We are to live abundantly and right now, we may not say were thriving but we are abundantly blessed.
A Praise

Chris and I know for Granny and Pop, for all in our family, they too have a burden put onto them due to our situation. They all do as much as they can and we love them for it. My in laws do a tremendous amount to help us out when we get in a bind. We are blessed to have such a family. All of my neices and nephews also suffer. My sisters kids, lived at my house and our kids were very close, they all have shared some wonderful times and we look forward to sharing many more times together of pure fun and forgetting this disease isn't our life, just a part of it. Having fun and enjoying times together is the main point.
Also Julie , is still having issues but Rachel is doing better at least, not 100% but better. Also my neice Rachel was one who was sent home from KU and didn't have the swine flu! Huge relief! My kids were in getting their marrows when I found that out and was worried sick, she is fine and were thankful. I have one niece, Rachel in College, Two nephews in College, Blaise is in his second year and David is in hi first year so they need prayer and I'm sure they will be fine and have fun, I also have my friends daughter that I'm close to and she too started her first year and needs prayer, Laci is her name. I have a second cousin, Brittney who starts her first year as well, so lots of college kids! I also want to mention Justine and Emily Rhoades as they are also in college. The Rhoads always need prayer as they travel often and are in El Salvador as Missionaries. We love them and pray for them daily.
There were several SDA families who were up last week when we were there and we pray all of their marrows come back fine as well.

Please pray for our dear freind Mike who is so dear to our family and is hurting right now. He needs lots of love and reassurance from his chirch home and all those that love him. He is feeling so much regret and satan again is trying hard to bring down his sprirt and keep his personnel testimony from being shared. We love you Mike! More importantly, God is a forgiving, loving friend. Both his parents are in the nursing home right now and he is taking care of them.

Then there the Blue Ridge Christain friends and staff which closed this year and with it brings a saddness but also memories of a tight knight family who were taught well in Christ. Mr and Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. Potter, Ms. Shnieder, Mrs. Gibson and Mrs. Balnkenship all gave many kids love and prayer and set a foundation we will always be proud of. I hope each of them find jobs quickly as you could not ask for better teachers! Also, stong friendships that came from this group include,Susan and Sid Cumberland, Christaina Smith, Mark and Theresa Andrews, Gail Pickert, Sue Wolfords and family and Lylia Trotter{Mark} and so many others who still pray and stay connected to us.
As you can see, leaving home was a big deal and friends like that are not easy to come by. We miss so many there yet have made others along the way and God has placed very special people in our path of life. Phil and Meg Williams and family as well as Johnny Haywood, Samuel Karate teachers and too many others to mention from church. The impacts these friends have made in our lives and the impact of churches across the US is wonderful.
We give praise to Mt. Carney Church as well as Evening Shade, Grace Community and many others, including families churches all over.
I have some of the sweetest extended family, actually a huge family and so many of them are a huge part of our lives as well. We love all the Procks, Hurleys, Blankenships, Barrs and everything inbetween!
Our family never want to forget who we beleive is truley responsible for all of the blessings that have been given to us and want to never forget where every breath and every blessing comes from. We also remember that even if every blessing was taken from us, He would still be there to carry us through and will always be our Lord and Savoir. He will bring us through this time of pain and heal our hearts and minds. Ervan is finally free of pain and the reason why he followed Jesus so one day he would walk with HIm forever in a Glorified body!
